The government on Tuesday sought to address the concerns over the alleged withdrawal of cashless medical insurance products by public sector insurance companies. The minister of state for finance Namo Narain Meena said in Parliament that the PSU general insurance companies have not revised/withdrawn the health insurance policy or the facility of cashless treatment. However, the companies have started rationalisation of empanelment of hospitals and standardisation of rates and specified procedures followed by the hospitals, he said.
